Occupying the liminal space between land, wind, and water, mangroves sustain and protect man, fish, and shore alike. We honor magnificent mangrove with our first banda, accessed at ground level just past the flowing Casuarina tree walkway. Built on wood-latticed coral floors, spacious MANGROVES is a peaceful vibrant green forest, our own mangrove sanctuary.

Retractable kindu shutters open to expansive views of sand mangroves framing the front dunes and channel. Enjoy a cup of tea while birdwatching from the swing bed or step outside and straight onto the dunes for a walk along the beach. An outdoor ladder provides access to the mangrove canopy - perfect for taking in a sunset or gazing at the stars. While you’re there, dream of Kingfishers nesting in waxy-leaved branches or tasting our local mangrove-flower honey – some of the sweetest in the land.

Wander through the indoor sand border - reminiscent of a meandering water channel - and imagine the molluscs, shellfish, and thousands of species of fish who live there. Along the way admire the emerald beauty of tropical plants such as Wandering Jew, Broadleaf Lady Palm, Ming Aralia and Dinnerplate Aralia.

For privacy the interior space is lined with burlap curtains decorated with green glass beads.
