At Kizingo, sustainability and connection are at the heart of everything we do. A celebration of beauty and place, we are an eco-lodge rooted in and sustained by our local village community and the living world around us.

Kizingo is an invitation into the ecology of sensory experience, a place to behold and explore the varied shapes, textures, voices, and colors of local life. Here, conventional notions of time may be traded for a slower pace of life - an invitation to deepen more fully into the present moment.

We are situated on a remote corner of Lamu island off the northern coast of Kenya. A fusion of African, Arab, Persian, Indian and Chinese influences, the richness of our Swahili culture is reflected in our food, language, art, homes and in the warm smiles for which we are known.

Nestled in sand dunes where the Lamu channel meets the Indian Ocean, each of our eight uniquely designed bandas pays tribute to our local environment and by extension, our culture. From emerald mangrove forests to life-sustaining coral beds, sand dunes to sparkling equatorial skies, we celebrate our connection with the greater web of life we call home.

Kizingo is a place to unwind, explore, connect, and share. A place to dream.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
