Activities on Offer
We encourage guests to make full use of their swing bed and do as little as possible after all when does one get the chance to do nothing. For those who need more to do we have a number of options
Swimming with wild Dolphines
We can only offer this activate between the November and April monsoon. Louis has been going out swim with dolphins for many years and has become friendly with a number of local pods. On a good day, and when the dolphines are in the mood to play one can spend ages in the water swimming and being observed by them!
There is a small coral island out to sea where we see the dolphins, called Kynika Rock It has excellent snorkelling and lots of different species of coulerful fish. We are also able to get onto the little island which has its own mini white beach and natural infinity pool to spend some time while we wait for the dolphins to show them selves.
The trip costs $USD 45.00 per person and a minimum of 4 people are needed to do the trip. We provide equipment and drinks. The trip leaves at 9am and returns around 12 Noon
Piki Piki Safari to Lake Kenyatta (Moterbike Ride) Cost US$20.00/per person (Minimum 2pax)
The trip starts with a short boat ride to the mainland where we jump on the back of Motorbikes and get Chauffeur driven though rural small farmlands to Lake Kenyatta where one can see lots of Hippopotamus and an incredible abidance of bird life. We then head to Mpekatoni town for a ice cold tusker or Coke at a local Bar before heading home.
Sunset Dune Walk
Behind Kizingo the sand dunes rise high up above us and from the top offer an incredible 360 Views of the whole island. Its a good 45 minute walk through the sand and helps work up a thirst for a sundowner at the top.
Lamu Town Town Tour - USD$70 for the hire of the whole boat - The guide appreciates a Tip and we recommend you give him a minimum of USD$10 for the tour which lasts about 2 hours
Lamu old town is the oldest and best preserved Swahai settlement in east Africa and has therefore been declared a world Heratage site by UNESCO. When you first see it from the water it looks more like a set for a film from the Middle ages. Lamu is one of the few old historical towns of the word that is still fully functioning in the way that it has done for hundreds of years. It has not been washed and sterilised and turned into a giant museum and instead real life still exists here. Sometimes this can be a bit overwhelming for the new arrival but once you look past the dust and donkeys you will find it to be a very unique and special place. We can arrange a boat trip to take you to the town leaving here around 9 am before it gets to hot and bringing you back at lunch time. We also have a great guide called Abdul who for a small extra fee can show you round and point you to the best spots to have a fresh fruit juice!
Waterskiing and Wakeboarding Charged at $3.00 a litter of fuel used
We can arrange to hire a local Sailing Dhow (Boat) to take you on a day trip around the islands or for a sunset sail
